iOS App Case Study · Wedding planning
Guests RSVP without an account. The couple plans everything else in one private workspace.
Simplyweds is a free iPhone and iPad app for couples and wedding planners. It pairs a guest-facing wedding website, where guests RSVP by QR code or invitation code with no account, with a private planning workspace for guests, tasks, budget, and announcements. Pinstripe Business Services designed, built, and shipped it to the App Store in September 2026.

Most wedding websites make every guest create an account, then let anyone type in a plus-one. Couples end up reconciling duplicate replies in a spreadsheet the week of the wedding.
Simplyweds needed the opposite. Guests should reach the reply form from a printed QR code or invitation code, with nothing to install and no password, and they should only be able to answer for the seats the couple actually reserved. Behind that, the couple and their planner needed one place to run the rest of the wedding.
Two halves on one data model. The guest half is a fast, themed wedding site that runs in any phone browser: RSVP by household, per-person dietary and accessibility notes, shuttle seats, a schedule filtered to what each guest is invited to, and moderated photo uploads, in English, Spanish, French, and German.
The planning half is the iOS app. Couples build the site from 23 page types instead of designing from scratch, import households from a spreadsheet, generate a QR code per household, and manage tasks, budget, and guest announcements by email and text. A planner or second admin can be invited to edit alongside them.
Sign in with Apple and Google, universal links that open invitation and dashboard links straight in the app, and camera access for photos are all native. The same codebase serves the web and iOS, which keeps one team shipping both.
Guests reply from a printed QR code or invitation code. No sign-up, no password, nothing to install.
A household answers only for the guests you invited. One answer per named guest, never a duplicate.
Travel, venue, schedule, hotel blocks, registry, FAQ, and more. Fill in fields instead of designing pages.
Tasks with owners and dependencies, planned vs. actual budget, and a feed of what changed and who opened the site.
Send updates to guests and keep a record of who opted into texts and whether each message arrived.
Drafts vendor messages and files tasks from your own guest list and budget. It writes; it cannot send.
The strongest product decision was deciding who does not need the app. Guests never install anything, so the App Store app is built entirely for the people doing the planning. Knowing which user gets the native app, and which gets a web link, keeps a build small and adoption high.
Rules the business cares about, like one reply per invited guest, live in the database rather than the screen. That is what lets the same product run safely on the web and on iOS at once.
We took Simplyweds from idea to the App Store. Tell us what your customers need your product to do, and we will tell you honestly whether an app is the right answer, what it takes, and what it costs.
The planner customers already bought, in an app built for it, with Apple Pencil and cloud sync.
