Pinstripe Sync: Private File Sharing Inside Your Client Portal

Pinstripe Sync is where Pinstripe clients send us documents and get finished work back. Upload statements, receipts, and contracts up to 100 MB each, file them in folders, and find them later, all in the same portal where you message and meet with us.

What Can You Do With Pinstripe Sync?

The practical back-and-forth of an engagement, from source documents to finished reports, in one place.

Drag-and-drop uploads

Drop a statement, a spreadsheet, or a folder of photos into your portal. PDFs, Office files, images (including iPhone HEIC photos), CSVs, ZIP archives, audio, and video all work.

Folders that match the work

File each upload under Bookkeeping, Contracts & Legal, Receipts & Expenses, Reports & Analytics, or another folder, and move it later if it lands in the wrong one.

Preview without downloading

Open a file in the portal to check it is the right one before you send a message about it.

Attach files to messages

Add a document to a secure message in your portal so the file and the question about it stay together.

Large uploads that resume

If your connection drops during a big upload, choose the same file again in the same browser and it picks up where it stopped.

Your files, whenever you need them

Find and download anything you or Pinstripe shared, without searching old email threads for an attachment.

What Documents Should You Upload?

Upload whatever we need to do the work you hired us for. This is what typically goes in each folder. For bookkeeping, statements and receipts matter most, because they are what we reconcile your books against.

FolderWhat to put there
BookkeepingBank and credit card statements, loan statements, payroll reports, prior-year financials
Receipts & ExpensesReceipts, bills, and invoices you want matched to transactions
Contracts & LegalSigned agreements, leases, vendor contracts, formation documents
Reports & AnalyticsSales exports, inventory reports, dashboards you already use
Business ConsultingProcess notes, org charts, job descriptions, pricing sheets
Business AutomationSpreadsheets and exports from the tools you want connected
Web DesignLogo files, brand guidelines, photos, and copy for your site

New to working with a bookkeeper? The monthly bookkeeping checklist shows what a month of clean books depends on, and the year-end close checklist lists the statements and forms your bookkeeper and CPA will ask for in January.

How Do You Share a File With Pinstripe?

Sign in, open the Pinstripe Sync tab, pick a folder, and drop the file in. We see it as soon as the upload finishes.

  1. Sign in to your workspace

Use the same Pinstripe login you use for messages and meetings.

  2. Open the Pinstripe Sync tab

Select Pinstripe Sync on your client dashboard.

  3. Choose a folder

Pick the folder that fits the file, such as Bookkeeping or Contracts & Legal.

  4. Drop in your files

Drag files onto the upload area or browse for them. Each file can be up to 100 MB.

Why Not Just Use Email or a Shared Drive?

You can, and we will never refuse a file because of how it arrived. But email caps attachment sizes and buries files in threads, and a shared drive is one more account and set of links to look after. Sync keeps every file in one place, next to the conversation about it.

Why We Built Pinstripe Sync

Most bookkeeping and consulting work starts with the same request: send us your documents. We did not like asking clients to create another account, buy another subscription, or dig through email for a sharing link just to do that. It was friction for you and a loose end for us.

Sync is not meant to replace the storage your business already runs on, and it is not a public file sharing service. It covers one relationship, yours with Pinstripe, so nothing we need for the work gets lost between inboxes.

Sync is one part of the client workspace. You can also meet with us by video in Pinstripe Talk, follow your month-end progress in Pinstripe Close, read your numbers in Pinstripe Ledger, or see what we do with your documents on the bookkeeping services page.
